‘At the edge of Romanticism’
Beethoven and Rachmaninov, two composers who were far apart in style, but who were both seeking a new language. A journey to the edge of Romanticism, from Beethoven, who paved the way by escaping the classical framework, to Rachmaninov, who, more than a century later, was probably the last of the highly lyrical Romantics. It is also a great opportunity to listen to Irina Lankova again in a repertoire that fits her like a glove and that she performs with sincerity and sensitivity.

Sergueï Rachmaninov
